Christine Murphy.
Christine Murphy is a Carthage native and a graduate of Western Illinois University with a BS in Physical Education/Athletic Training. Christine landed a job out of college as the first Certified Athletic Trainer on staff at McDonough District Hospital, in their outpatient Sports Medicine Clinic. She was tasked with developing, implementing & marketing Athletic Training contract services to area high schools. In addition, she focused on sports-specific training, ergonomics, and work-related rehabilitation within the clinic. Christine had the opportunity to come home to Carthage to help launch a new branch facility as the Director of the Hoerner YMCA in Carthage. She learned by experience what it takes to start a business from the ground up, and draws on those skills as she facilitates the Hancock County CEO Class. Christine has also spent time working in the foodservice industry as well as sales, and works out of her home teaching violin lessons. Christine loves learning and has shared that with all ages as a substitute teacher, girls’ basketball coach, Kids On Campus instructor, and part time faculty at Carl Sandburg College. She continues to be involved with youth sports in the community, and enjoys golfing, writing music and leading the worship team at her church. She is a member of the Carthage Kiwanis Club. Christine is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have 3 children. “I am thrilled to be the facilitator for the Hancock County CEO Program. In addition to starting a business and learning from some of the greatest business minds in the area, CEO is about building relationships and encouraging young entrepreneurs to stretch themselves and value every opportunity they are given.”
